‘Dirty Work’ based on migration: Helmer

Iranian social drama ‘Dirty Work’ is themed on migration and unemployment, director says.

Khosrow Masoumi said to the media department of 36th Fajr Film Festival that his movie ‘Dirty Work’ revolves around the topics of migration and unemployment, adding, “This new flick does not differ from my previous works as all my productions are themed on social issues.”

Named among the lineup of 2018 Fajr fest in Iran, ‘Dirty Work’ will compete for a Crystal Simorgh.

The director also noted that despite his other titles set in rural areas, his new offering was filmed in an urban area.

Fifty percent of the flick was captured in Turkey while the rest was shot in Iran.

The cast list revealed to the media includes Reza Fayazi, Akbar Moazzai, Shahrokh Forotanian, Levon Haftvan and Pedram Sharifi.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is slated for February 1-11, 2018, in Tehran.
